Nasal polyps can have a huge impact on life. Polyps can make it hard to breathe, sleep, and enjoy the taste of food or the smell of flowers. They can also cause facial pain and pressure. Polyp removal relieves symptoms by immediately improving airflow through the nasal passages.
Traditionally, polyp removal has required surgery in the operating room, under general anesthesia. The ENT Clinic of Iowa is among the first in the United States to offer the innovative PolypVac® device for removing nasal polyps in the physician’s office, under local anesthesia, in just a few minutes.
